Milk Cartons For Gift Boxes?

on November 18, 2010

Why not? Especially if they’d end up as unique and adorable as the ones I’ve come across a couple of weeks ago. [Let’s not forget that they’re biodegradable, recyclable, and totally eco-friendly. ]

See what I mean?

A friend of mine, Allen, and his fiancee Issa are the brains behind these one-of-a-kind gift boxes. Issa handcrafts [and personally designs] every one of them. I say she’s just brilliant [considering that she neither attended any art school nor workshops/seminars on crafts]! Armed with only an innate desire for designing, tinkering with and creating things, she comes up with such handiwork. Smiley With her God-given creativity and inventiveness, Issa thrives on putting a new spin to recyling and producing handmade, functional, and conversation-initiating pieces. *sigh* So inspiring! If only I had a knack for the arts. I envy people like her.

She also offers non Christmas-themed favor boxes such as these:

It was love at first site with Ms. Geisha right here. Look at her obi!!!

Frankie would’ve been perfect for Halloween but t’was too late when I saw him.

These boxes stand 4.25 inches tall and has a width of 2.8 inches. Quite spacious for small items, giveaways, candies, and other trinkets if you ask me. Now for the most awaited question… “How do we get our hands on ’em cute things?” Issa offers the PDF file [yes, these darlings are printables] for $1.99 or the actual box for P25 each. I personally think the price of the printable is rather reasonable for something you can use over and over. The PDF file includes folding guides and other instructions to construct the box. Issa accepts Paypal payments for her gift boxes and other ingenious creations as seen on her online store.

If you’re tired of the traditional methods of packaging your presents & party favors, Issa’s gift ideas are surefire ways to bring cheer to any Christmas party or gathering. Change the way you style your tokens and things. Dress them up and welcome this whole new awesome approach to gift-wrapping.
